Sea Green

So for this color  I did a little research...not sure why exactly but it was quite interesting to find out that it was introduce in 1949 in a box of 48. They have words that describe the "Personality Traits for this hue: *cool* *crisp* *fresh* *close to nature* *immature*" I wonder who and how they come up with this words!

Here are my finds for this color which kind of reminds me of pistachios :) What do you think?

Project64 / week 27 / sea green
This little vase or bowl reminded me of corals in the ocean. I found it at one of the many art galleries in the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village in Sedona Az. It's quite beautiful place but if you plan on buying something you better save because things are quite pricey. I took this picture through a window because I'm sure they would not want me to be photographing their art.

This one I spotted as we were driving back ....it was a beautiful church kind of in the middle of nowhere.
So this is what I got for "sea green" not sure I nailed in matching the color but I had fun hunting for it.

In another note I'll be working on adding a "About me"(it's quite hard writting about yourself) page to my blog. Possibly a page for my Photography sessions I have done for others although I have though about creating an entirely separate blog for this not sure...What do you guys think? Also does anyone know if you can add a "reply" button to comments people leave?

Thanks in advance for the input.

Scanvenger Hunt Sunday

As I mentioned on my previous post last week was my 30th birthday and my hubby and his side of the family(which I love dearly) surprised me with the most AWESOME birthday gift I have ever received. They caught me completely off guard with a very nice birthday celebration with almost everyone there, the biggest; coolest handmade birthday card and tickets to go fly on a hot air balloon. As if that wasn't enough I also was going to spend time at one of my favorite places Sedona, AZ with my hubby. Needless to say we had a fantastic weekend just the two of us. I feel blessed to have such a loving family.....life is great!

Both my husband and I had a great time photographing just about everything.....(we got several weird looks). I was going to post my interpretations for this week's scavenger hunt last night but it was thundering and I was very tired since we had to wake up at 4am to do our hot air balloon voyage at sunrise.....not complaining but I was ready to sleep.

So here are my interpretations:

1.-Things that look like the letter of the alphabet.
I had a great time hunting for letters and will probably keep doing it until I can complete the whole alphabet :)

3000 feet up on the air I spot "J" amongst the scenery!
As I said I had too much fun finding letters so I couldn't choose just one...I hope you guys don't mind

2.-Weather

I captured these this past Tuesday here in my back yard as one of the biggest dust storm rolled through Arizona. I believe it made national news but here is a link to a video that shows in 56 seconds what lasted for several hours.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG9d_aQoZ3k&feature=related
Time lapse on my pictures about 20 minutes.
My hubby capture the following last night.  Yes, we have become the crazy people that go out when they see lighting in the sky :)

I wish I was better at "Photoshop" to remove the distractions on this photo but I'm not so for now this is what we have.

3.- Bling

Window "bling" found in art shops in and around Sedona, AZ. I would love to hang several of these in one of my windows but they are quite pricey.

4.-Tangle

This is an ear of a donkey made out of "tangled" rusted wired.

5.-Dark

I choose to use this for dark because we had to turn almost every light in the hotel room to be able to capture the beauty of the fireplace which only last on for about 30 to 45 min because after all it is July in AZ and really there is no need for extra heat.

So there you have it .....
I'm already excited for next weeks hunt which includes the following promts:
  1. Black and White
  2. Reflections in Glass (Exploring with a Camera theme - check out post here)
  3. Headlights (Chelsea's suggestion)
  4. Seeing Double (Chelsea's suggestion)
  5. Bare (Chelsea's suggestion)
Head on over to Ashley's blog to see all the other interpretations

Finding the light!

I know I'm really close to the deadline to submit these for this week's prompt over at http://www.projectalicia.com/ for the Crazy Days of Summer week five but I had to wait to see what was capture last night. I'm so glad I did because my hubby capture some pretty AWESOME shots with less than ideal conditions.

I think that capturing light as you see it is one of the trickiest things to do but oh so fun to try!

This was a lucky shot because back then I was stuck on "Auto"

Both my hubby and I love photography and I think both have help each other get to where we are today.

This is one of my all time favorites it might not be technically correct but I adore this picture of my boys playing along a nearby lake.

Trying to play with long exposure a few weeks ago.

I was hoping the kids could get a change to hold a sparkler each but with the weather conditions and how overtired they were; we though it was safer to try at another time so you get to see a sparkler I shot at the beginning of the year.

Last night we had an awesome time watching the fireworks display and although the conditions where horrible (windy and dusty) my hubby still manage to capture several shots. These two are his favorite.

Red.....is everywhere!

What a fitting color to look for on this day for all the ones in the US, though I think this color is quite popular and can probably be found anywhere.

Here are my finds;

I can't believe this little guy has survived as long as he has.

Such a colorful, hardy and messy plant to have.

Happy 4th of July!
I love the U S A
In honor of all those who have served and for the ones still serving and all their families this is my submission.
Project64 / week 26 / Red

Have a safe and fun Monday!

First scavenger hunt of July!

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend. I had an awesome weekend full of birthday surprises thanks to my hubby and our families. I turned 30 years young yesterday; I felt so loved by everyone. I know I'm blessed beyond believe. A big thanks to everyone that has ever touch my life because I believe each little or big experience has made me the person I am today. I know so many people in particular women don't like to think of getting older. In my case so far I am enjoying the journey a I'm so excited for the future.

I almost decided not to post the scavenger hunt pictures for this week but here they are. I hope you enjoy them :)

1.-Pop of Color

In this desert that I live it's quite refreshing to find these little pops of color!

2.- Crossing Thresholds

Who could have known that by the time I turned thirty I would be so happy. I mean I was happy when I turned twenty but at that time I had so many dreams that I didn't know if  they would ever become a reality and now I know that yes they can and they will.   One step at a time!!!

3.-X-Ray

This was a bit complicated to me and I'm not sure I nailed it but I try!

4.-Toy

My boys newest obsession their BEYBLADE(s)!!! They talk about this more or less all the time so much so sometimes my ears need a break :) Who knew tops would be so interesting but according to them they are not an ordinary top. They have powers and special moves....I look forward to the next stage.

5.- Farm or Hidden

This one is from the old archives and I love it very much because you see the house at the back of this photo.....I was born there! Yes my mom didn't go to the hospital to deliver me. She had a natural birth with very little assistance in her own home that was made by my grandpa and my dad on the same piece of land that this house sits on. That house is long gone but all the stories and memories remain.

Next weeks words are:
  1. Things that look like a letter of the alphabet
  2. Weather (Paper Heart Camera theme 7/10)
  3. Bling (Heidi's suggestion)
  4. Tangled (Heidi's suggestion)
  5. Dark (Heidi's suggestion)
Click on the Scavenger Hunt Sunday's button on my side bar to check the rest of the interpretations for this week and maybe join in the fun.

Happy 4th of July to all of you that celebrate this holiday and to the rest of you happy monday.

Thank you for stopping by :)
