I Click it Up a Notch Photography Contest - June

I was super excited to read about this contest over at Click it Up a Notch so I started looking thru my files. I knew it was going to be hard to just choose one photo and that's why I waited as long as possible. The following was captured yesterday afternoon with the help of my hubby :)

So you see this is our new favorite photo of this month ... we feel so bless to be able to watch this sweet little guy grow. I could babysit several babies if they were all like him so easy going but only if they came with parents to match his parents.

Scanvenger Hunt

Here I am again running late with my scavenger hunt submission. I had quite an interesting day today...let's just say I'm so glad it's over and look forward to tomorrow.

Here are my submissions.....

1.- Windows / Doors

2.- Eyelashes

Aren't those gorgeous?

3.-Paint

I capture this when I helped my son's preschool teacher with an idea we both had seen on another blog that both of us follow. I think we had the most fun. If you would like to see some of the things she does head over to http://www.gettingmessywithmsjessi.com/
She is AWESOME and we feel so lucky to have here and her little family in our lives.

4.- Leaf Veins

My neighbors probably think I'm crazy when they see me high on a ladder under a tree.

5.- Faceless Portrait

Let's make a deal "Let's see who can drive mommy crazy the fastest." Just kidding..... they are actually pretty good kids!

Goldenrod and spontaneous water fun!

What a beautiful day!!! Today I woke up to find out that I was one of the four monthly favorites over at http://project64colors.blogspot.com/ that was such a nice surprise by itself but as a cherry on top I might have a chance to win two beautiful necklaces. I'm so excited!

It's also time to submit a entry for "Goldenrod" so here are the images that I though matched this color which I found tricky.

Project Alicia

Last week I didn't get around to entering the "crazy days of summer" photo challenge :( I wish I had a more interesting photos but what can I say I have been spending quite a bit of time around the splash pad or pool and this is all I got....thank goodness we didn't go today because we hit 114 degrees. It's definitely summer here in AZ and that means that you can play in the water even when you aren't prepared. I wish I would have taken a picture of my three year old's face when I asked him if he wanted to play in the splash pad. He was playing is the playground and he kept telling me "It's hot mommy..... too hot"
I scored cool mom points by letting him get wet on his "normal clothes" Happy kid means happy mom!

Not sure I was able to quite find an exact match but I had fun taking these pictures. I also found it funny and sweet that when my three year old son saw me taking the last shot he told me "Mom you love taking pictures of anything don't you? You are always smiling when you hold the camera to your eye."

Hope that all of you are having a great start to your week!!! Thank you for stopping by.

I had this all written up and when I went to publish poof it went away........grrrrrrrr! And because I really should go to bed I will make it short and quick. Lots has happen since my last post but I guess I will have to share at another time. For now I leave you with my pictures I took trying to find the color "olive green" for Project64.

This is me pretending it rain.....but in reality I water the oleanders on our back yard while the kids played.
This is my favorite of the this three photos and my submission

Reminiscing!!!

Warning!!!...this post will contain LOTS of pictures :)  I hope you enjoy them and hopefully is not too much. Joining two challenges prompted this post. The first challenge is called Crazy Days of Summer and the second one is called Flashback Friday see my side bar and you will find their buttons if you would like to take a look, get info and maybe join too.

All this photos were taken almost a year ago on our first family vacation when we visited beautiful San Diego CA and while there we went to Mission Beach, Sea World , The San Diego Zoo and The San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park. We all had so much fun, created tons of memories and took about 1500 pictures or so...and no; not all of them will be posted so don't worry.

I could go on and on but I think the photos will do the talking. I have shared a few of the photos on previous post. I hope I don't overwhelm you....here we go!!! Ready?

My son still talks about his friend the walrus who we visited at least six times while we were at Sea World.

That was a "Crazy Day(s) of Summer" and my submission for this weeks promt over at http://www.projectalicia.com/
We went to Sea World two days and the first day we had to experience getting wet by Shamu which was quite "refreshing" as you can see on the next photo I try putting the camera in a plastic bag but as you can see the picture quality wasn't the greatest so I decided to wing it and try to capture the water coming at us and turning just in time....it work but yes I was crazy trying that.

I had never seen either of this two flowers in person. I only wish I was taller to capture the magnolia better.

Sorry it this was a photo overload.....but I promise I won't do that again at least not for a while :)

Thank you for stopping by.

Timberwolf

I have been "organizing toys" which needs to happen every so often because things get all disorganized with two little boys.....don't tell them but sometime I feel like getting rid of everything. I mean the amount of toys has multiplied quickly and sometimes it seems like we are getting ran over by TOYS. I guess is just another stage and will probably one day miss all this chaos.....maybe :)

While organizing (which my kids think I'm playing with them so it becomes a win win situation) I found several items that were "timberwolf"or pretty close to it.

Here are a couple of the examples:

This two I think match the crayon perfectly but when you write with it it's much more lighter.

Okay the next two photos are not of my kids toys but I believe it's the perfect match to "timberwolf" I will have to confess they are from my archives. They were taken almost a year ago on our first visit to Sea World San Diego. I have always loved dolphins so of course we had to go to the Rocky Point Preserve" there you can feed bottle nose dolphins. We decided we were not doing that instead we just observed but to my surprise one of them came very close to us, so close I was able to touch it(will never forget that feeling) but it almost didn't happen because I froze for a moment....my husband had to tell me "I though one of your dreams was to touch a dolphin, what are you waiting for?" I  think I though I was dreaming :) so on that day I was able to check one of my bucket list items.

Project64 / week 23 / timberwolf

I don't even remember taking this picture but I'm glad I did.

If you would like to give this project a try, click on the button on my side bar so you can go get info and look at the rest of the entries. Everyone is welcomed to join in the fun.

P.S Thank you so much for all the love on my previous post. Every single comment is appreciated.

It's Sunday!!!!!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday that is......this past couple of weeks I have felt stuck with so much I want to say and do but not knowing exactly how to say it or where to start. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels like that every once in a while but I hope it soon passes. I have always said if only I had more arms but I'm sure if I did I will still have so much more I would like to do.
Yesterday I read something Jasmine Star put as her status on Facebook that made so much sense and everyone should practice. She wrote "Today I'm measuring life in deep breaths, long laughs and love in the in-between moments."

Isn't beautiful?....anyway here are my interpretations.

1.-Long Exposure
I stayed up last night as everyone slept to play with the boys toys and my camera. Right hand held the camera, left hand held the toy but the hardest was try to stay as still as possible.

I just found another fun challenge to join over at
http://www.murrieta365.com/
head on over to take a look; you might want to join!

I found yet another challenge to join....(I hope blogger doesn't limit the amount of blogs you can follow or challenges you join hehe!)

For this past week the picture above is one of my favorites notice I said "one of" it's really hard to choose a favorite :)

Click on the button on my side bar so you can go see all the fun entries.

2.- Shapes
This one I literally just took because I didn't know what to put for shapes....my three year old was given this for his last birthday and will probably be one of those toys I will save for him.

3.- Green
This is one of my all time favorite (SOOC) shots and it just so happens to be green. At this time it had been about a year and three months since my hubby bought me my first DSLR. That's when the learning really began because before that I was on "Auto" all the time not really knowing what you can really do with the little piece of equipment. I was able to capture this picture after an unusual storm that caused tons of damage around my community last October but in my back yard all I found was beauty.

4.- Fruit
I would say one of our favorite fruits during the summer is watermelon.

5.- Childhood Memory
This is me...not sure exactly how old I was but I think maybe two years. I was being held by my grandma that past away about two years ago and my dad is telling me to look at whoever it is taking the photo. This is one of the few photos I have of me as a child because my mom won't give me any more :( She would rather keep all the photos stuck in a cardboard box than let me borrow so I can scan them all which is pretty sad but one of these days I will sneak that box out of the house without her noticing.

So there you have all my interpretations if you would like to join in the next week scavenger hunt or even this week (because you have until Tuesday to submit your entry) click on the button on my side bar. It will take you to where you can see the rest of the entries and you will also find info on what you need to do to join this fun challenge.

Happy Sunday!
